Q: Dear Shoe Lady, I am a ladies size 12. I am looking for a platform sandal preferably wood and leather with an adjustable ankle strap. But the front of the sandal has to be high off the ground, only slightly lower than the heel. I want a backsloping telescopic heel, but not too narrow. The sandal should be a rocker that is comfortable to wear all day long. I want to wear it barefoot or with pantyhose. With jeans, slacks skirt or dress.

Q: Good morning,
I’d like to buy a pair of shoes in DesignerShoes.com but I’m not sure about the size. The thing is my feet measure 28cm and my size in Europe is 43. What would be the right size to buy in DesignerShoes.com? For me, the more trustful measure is by CM … so, as of the webpage chart, would my size be a 10 / 10.5 in UK measure?

A: Hi Eva,
According to the chart you would be between a 10.5 and an 11 in UK measurements. Before committing to a shoe I would measure again just to be sure you are getting the same length. If you wore a 43, your foot length would be around 26.7cm. The way shoes are made definitely makes a difference in how the overall fit works. Sometimes one can manage a slightly smaller size if there is less padding in a shoe, such as a ballet flat or a sandal. What you have described is a fairly significant difference, but don’t despair! I would love to know what the results are a second time, and in general what types of size 43 shoes you have been wearing.

Q: Is it true that Australian sizes are one size smaller than u.s sizes? Therefore if I wear an 11 in aus should I order a 12 in U.S sizes?
A: I have seen more U.S. sizes that when converting to Australian sizes you should buy one to one and half sizes larger, and some that have equal conversions. If you are browsing our website for U.S. sizes, we have a chart that list sizes in both centimeters and inches. Shoe conversion is never an exact science due to the different styles, and manufacturing procedures. Maybe one day down the road we will get more consistency. I highly recommend measuring the lengths of your feet for your target shoe size!

Q: I have searched your site for sandals or slides to fit… but ALL my searches come up with nothing… my shoe size is actually 10-1/2N, but in a sandal or slide I can wear a 10N… I have searched everywhere, to no avail. Q: I want to know how to find women’s shoe’s in my size I’m a male to female transsexual who wears a size 12ww in mens shoe’s.
A: The general rule of thumb in converting mens sizes to womens is to add around 1 to 1.5 to the current number. If you wear a 12ww the size range in womens might be between 13 and 14. It isn’t an exact science, but the fun part is trying different styles within that range. You may also search directly for your target sizes and closest widths on DesignerShoes.com. Mens shoes are generally wider than women’s shoes, so I recommend getting certain styles stretched when necessary for maximum comfort. Consulting our Size Chart is a helpful jumping off point.
I own a pair of these amazing boots. Summer isn’t boot weather but they work under jeans or with a cute skirt or dress depending on my mood. I have large calves and don’t find these snug. Very supportive.
