Posted on December 29, 2011 | 1 CommentDear Shoe Lady, My feet have gotten wider as I have aged and have a bunion on left foot. As well lost a considerable amount of weight of the last two years. Not sure what I size I actually wear now. How do I measure my feet? Dear Linda from Dallas, Congratulations on your weight loss and keeping it off for over 2 years! With weight loss comes a reduction in the width of your foot and at times even the length. Good idea to measure again at your new svelte weight! Here is a how to guide and the... -
Needing ALL Leather Shoes
Posted on December 22, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, I have developed an allergy to shoes that have synthetic/rubber soles. Do you have all leather shoes with leather soles and insoles available? I typed in all leather and it still gave me rubber soled shoes. Hi Donna, With regard to the site search it’s because most of our shoes are made up of multiple types of materials. I will make sure to all “all leather” as a keyword to narrow your results to ONLY shoe constructed of 100% leather. Have you tried our Rachel shoes by Softwalk? They have softleather and foam on the inside, but... -
Boots and Casual Shoes for Women’s Size 11 Wide
Posted on December 19, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, I have an 11 wide foot. Last winter I got frostbite at Christmas and then was diagnosed with Reynards Syndrome due to Fibromyalgia. I have to wear 2-4 pairs of socks in the winter and need a shoe that has lots of toe box, and last year wore a size 12 mens sneaker to have enough room. Do you have a recommendation for a casual dress shoe, possible lace up, and a warm boot that I can wear either with jeans or long dresses. Thanks so much! I just found your website and love what I see... -

Shoe Stretching – Bella Vita Athena
Posted on December 11, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, I have just received my Bella Vita Athena leather shoe size 6.5. The width is good but they have peep hole toe which is just a little long. Will they stretch enough so my toe can slip down a little or should i return them and exchange for a size 6. I LOVE the look! Dear Lynette, The Bella Vita Athena Style is a SEXY shoe – what a great choice! Leather in general always stretches a little bit, but all Bella Vita shoes are designed for comfort and are made of excellent quality materials. I’m afraid... -

Patent Leather after Labor Day?
Posted on December 8, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, Can patent leather be worn after labor day? Or would a flat leather alligator/snake pattered leather be more versatile? Dear Martha, Years ago, patent leather was a spring and summer staple, but nowadays, it’s uber-trendy to wear in the fall and winter. One good rule of thumb is the style/color should be appropriate to the season. Dark colors like purple, navy, black, maroon and grey are fashionable this winter. Comfortable shoe with a 2.5 inch heel suitable for work or paired with a dark jean. Or try a crinkled patent leather with a pop of color to... -
Heels Slip Out While Dancing
Posted on December 7, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, About 15 years ago I bought a pair of easy spirit shoes that fit me better than any shoes I have ever had. I believe they were labeled something like M A/B but I don’t remember exactly. I am a size 7 and 1/2 but the ball of my foot is wide and the heel is narrow and my arch is high. My feet look great in most shoes but I like to dance and have trouble with fitting my high arch and wide ball into a pair of 7 and 1/2 heels so I have to... -
Wide vs. Extra Wide Width
Posted on December 6, 2011 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, How do you know what size to order wide vs. extra wide? Dear Maddie, Thank you so much for your question! To achieve the most comfortable and accurate width fit you MUST measure the width of your feet. Women do not believe the width measurement is an important one but they couldn’t be more wrong! Think about the difference in inches between a wide and extra wide width. It’s 0.4 inches. Imagine having to cram your toes into a shoe that is a half an inch too small. Painful! The benefits of taking the time to measure...
