Width depends on length
Posted on April 22, 2009 | No CommentsDear A- The width differs according to the length. Based on these measurements, you are between a 9 and a 9.5 wide. The differences are very slight, only 0.3 cm on the length. And please keep in mind that we've only taken into consideration two dimensions, length and width. You should also consider the thickness/thinness of your foot. If it is thicker, more muscular, than average, you may want to go to an extra wide (WW). Much of this size decision also depends on the style of the shoe you are going to order. A round toed flat will be more accommodating for a wide foot than a high heeled, pointy toed pump. -
Shoes for my daughter?
Posted on April 22, 2009 | 1 CommentDear Shoe Lady, I am interested in ordering shoes for my daughter but am unsure what size to order. We are from Canada and she usually wears a sz 10.5 but they are never wide enough in the average sizes. How do you measure for width. C is how wide as apposed to d width or E? Thank you R S Dear RS- Glad to hear from you! I'd start by clicking on our site to the section on how to measure feet. Then click here to estimate what size and width you will need. If it turns out that 10.5 is the right length, then compare the width measurement of her widest foot to this: -

Narrow Feet in Australia
Posted on March 19, 2009 | No CommentsHi I love your website! I have measured my feet as per your instructions on the website. Exact measurements are: Length 9 7/8 inches width: 3 3/8 inches. I am not sure what width and length that equates to on your sizing on the website. I am guessing it's a 10 N. Is that correct? I live in Australia. What would the postage be? -
Shoe Size Information?
Posted on March 19, 2009 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, I am writing from Spain. I was very happy to find your web page as I have problems finding big shoes here in Spain. I already looked at many of the shoes you have and I would like to buy some…but I need to know first about size conversion, since I found in the internet different charts that do not show the same conversion with european sizes. I measured my foot as you suggest in your page and here is the result: 10,6 inch long and 4,1 in wide. Could you please tell me what size that... -
When a shoe “gaps” on the side?
Posted on March 4, 2009 | No CommentsDear Shoe Lady, I received my shoes but they gap on the sides. This is the biggest drawback of ordering shoes on line. Should I try the same shoe in a medium instead of a wide with. Do you know if Katie runs large. S.R. Dear S.R.- Gapping is one of the mysteries of shoe fit. It usually has less to do with the width of the shoe and more to do with how the shoe is cut in relation to the shape of your foot. For example, if the ball of your foot hits below the curve on the...
